Baja Andy rages on the single track!!!

Los Hermanos Locos

NEWSFLASH: CADILLAC TO MARRY!!!!
Los Hermanos Locos @ The Pennant!!!

Baja California: In late 2003, our friend, brother and son Andy Specht suffered a fatal off-road motorcycle crash as he was preparing for the biggest race of his short career, the famed Baja 1000.

However, as Andy would have said to us all, "You better get out there and win that race," DP Racing did just that. Led by Baja Seve as the Team Owner/Manager, JoeHauler and his riders opened up the throttle from start to finish to capture their first ever Baja 1000 Championship Win. With assistance from a crew of support people both at the race and stateside, DP Racing overcame a tremendous emotional hurdle to win that race for Andy.

JoeHauler was running full throttle on the Pacific Coast when he came to an area with several spectators, one who had placed a large homemade banner that read, "One4Andy-101X." As JoeHauler later said, "That was unbelievable to see in the middle of Baja, I was an emotional mess after seeing that."

After much celebration in Baja and stateside for the huge win by DP Racing, the time has turned to celebrate and focus on our fallen rider, Andy Specht. This guy was full of life and touched many people with his acts of kindness and caring. Now we don't want to get all mushy here, but it is what it is and Andy was the guy that everyone liked.

Baja Seve and his crew has put much effort towards a massive fiesta and 300+ mile ride in celebration of our great friend, Baja Andy! The famed Los Hermanos Locos Crew from www.Baja.Net, led by the extraordinary chefs, Wild Bill & Elena La Loca, will descend upon the long time favorite riding hangout of Baja Andy, Mike's Sky Ranch nestled in the hills outside Valle Trinindad.

Wild Bill has planned to serve the 45+ people in this group sizzling ribeye steak with all the fixin's as Los Hermanos Locos will dazzle the crowd with some of the best food on the Baja Peninsula. At the last Los Hermanos Locos event in the high-desert of California, Baja Andy was full steam ahead and the life of the party. The Los Hermanos Locos Crew is all about living the lifestyle, having fun and keeping everyone happy.

The riders and support personnel will begin arriving to Rancho Santa Veronica early Friday afternoon. As the details are worked out and the supplies for the riders are loaded, expect the first of many celebrations to begin at the bar.

The riding group will begin from Rancho Santa Veronica on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. and head to Mike's Sky Ranch some 165+ miles away. Riding in three groups, they will be supported by a host of crew from the Los Hermanos Locos including Gunny, Super Steve, Cadillac Bob to name a few. Later in the afternoon as they make their way south they'll join in a fiesta to celebrate Baja Andy's last ride in November 2003.. On Sunday morning they will all trek back to Rancho Santa Veronica where the celebration will culminate after 2 1/2 days of fun.

The Los Hermanos Locos Crew will provide up-to-date live coverage of this event broadcasting from Baja California via the MotoSat Satellite System. You'll get to read and see it unfold right here on the best Baja website in the world, www.Baja.Net.

Los Hermanos Locos @ Blackies in Newport Beach
Friday 5:45 PM-The Border

Tecate, Baja California: The border wait is only 3-4 cars going south. Wild Bill and Elena La Loca have arrived to our meeting location and the MotoSat is in action...The US Border Patrol stopped by to inquire about the MotoSat...inquiring minds want to know. The border is in Condition Yellow! All is well and we are less than an hour from RSV Fiesta...The ring leader has arrived safely and has reported that RSV is awaiting the arrival of all from Los Hermanos Locos...Stay tuned for more photos.

Friday 7:45 PM -Rancho Santa Veronica

Rancho Santa Veronica, Baja California: Arrival to RSV was as expected. The Los Hermanos Locos crew was ordering dinner and having Pacifico by the case in the bar at this old time rancho! The owner of this establishment is a professional bull fighter, so no doubt WE have a date to strap some horns on the Desertbull tonight!!! John "Sport" Sonnenberg-Mag7 Fuel Guy from Baja 1000 Chapala was here first awaiting the arrival of the LHL crew. Usmar, Seve, Joe Spawn and Sergio all Baja.net regulars are on site for the fiesta. Rumor has it JoeHauler.com is on the way along with many others. More updates later...as our dinner is ready!!!!

Friday 9:30 PM -Rancho Santa Veronica

Rancho Santa Veronica, Baja California: Big Tickets, Mark Daniels and crew arrived from Santa Barbara along with a host of other San Diego County Los Hermanos Locos....life is good next to the fire at Rancho Santa Veronica!!! Donde es Fidel??? With dinner over and the fun about to begin, Rancho Santa Veronica is the latest AAA location for Los Hermanos Locos...

Friday 11:00 PM -Rancho Santa Veronica

Rancho Santa Veronica, Baja California: The 11:00 pm update is ever growing. The list of riders continues to grow with each half hour. The TWINS have arrived and the party is continuing to rage...the fire is out of control warm and well...where is Baja Blackie????

Saturday 11:00 AM -Laguna Hanson in the National Park

Laguna Hanson, Baja California: The Desert Tank left Rancho Santa Veronica at 9:00 am and as we approached Rancho Picacho the truck suffered a major problem with the steering arm, Track Bar, which lost the huge nut and bolt on the passenger side. We dug into the Desertbull's tool bag and found a replacement that would work and after a 30 minute delay fixing our problem we were off again.

The organized chaos at RSV as 45 riders attempted to leave was great to watch! The riders left just after 9:00 am and Tom "Cardiff Kid" Maggard and Desertbull are standing by at Laguna Hanson at the restaurant awaiting to fuel 45 riders!!!

The 37 mile dirt road was in medium shape and they had a "surprise" military inspection in which they were very thorough based on normal inspection procedures. Of course, the MotoSat, spare Yamaha and 20+ five gallon containers led to some suspicion!!!

More to follow as riders arrive to Laguna Hanson at the top of the mountain beneath the 80 foot tall pines!! Los Hermanos Locos rocks Baja from the top of the pines on the Baja Peninsula!

Saturday 1:00 PM -Laguna Hanson in the National Park

Laguna Hanson, Baja California: The first group has arrived led by Los Hermanos Locos Baja Seve...word has it that Jay in the Toyota Tundra suffered a flat tire and was lost for an hour after repairing the tire. Several riders have ventured off on their own however everyone is on track as Baja Andy leads them in the right direction. The ride continues from here up the Stairway to Heaven where the Memorial Service will occur with Baja Seve leading the charge! Baja Seve says, "We're having a blast!" We are posting while riders are arriving to Laguna Hanson in groups of 4-6 riders!!! Huevos Rancheros at Laguna Hanson was awesome and you can visit their website at www.todobaja.com/rodeo for more information!

Rancho Rodeo Del Rey...Awesome Food-LHL Approved

Saturday 1:45 PM -Laguna Hanson in the National Park

Laguna Hanson, Baja California: The carnage has been sustained to Mark Daniels crashing and blowing up a $500 HID headlight but no injuries. Everyone is fueled and we are heading towards Kilometer 78 where we will meet Gunny and the crew for the second fuel stop!

Saturday 7:00 PM -Mike's Sky Rancho

Mike's Sky Ranch, Baja California: Everyone has arrived to Mike's Sky Rancho safely and the fiesta has begun. Wild Bill and Cadillac Bob and their gals came directly to Mike's and prepared food, rooms and the fiesta. However, the day was not without carnage. One dislocated shoulder with Mag 7 John, but still riding! The Doctor thought he was in the Baja 1000 and while driving his Ford F150 as support with gear, gas and medical gear he was hauling ass down a trail and lost control. The subsequent crash resulted in a demonlished oil pan with a massive hole in it which rendered it DONE! The last 45 miles were in the dark for almost everyone riding including the support personnel. Some riders had NO LIGHTS and ran in front of the HID's mounted on the Desert Tank...and we made it! Hot showers, hot & tasty food and a grande fiesta. More to follow on the awesome Memorial Service for Andy at the top of Stairway to Heaven...plaques, photos, a mailbox and more!!!

Saturday 9:30 PM -Mike's Sky Rancho

Mike's Sky Ranch, Baja California: The fiesta was as expected and Wild Bill and Cadillac Bob BBQ'd ribeye's to perfection. The entire riding group were all seated at Mike Leon's dining room as his family and friends served salad, beans, veggies and more. To top of the dinner on this occasion, Mike's served Cheesecake in multiple flavors....Top Notch all the way.

Baja Seve provided the commerative speech towards Baja Andy and was certainly a fine tribute! Andy's spirit rides!!!!

DinDinner at Mike's Sky Rancho-Baja California...

Mike Leon, owner of Mike's Sky Ranch asked Baja Seve what he was going to do with the commerative photo board that was brought up here and on display...and then requested to hang it on the wall inside Mike's Sky Ranch!!! The bar is full after a tremendous evening of fun and festivities. Until tomorrow! Adios!!!!
